What is no bleach balayage?
You may have seen posts about achieving a balayage or highlighted look on dark hair without the use of bleach lately. While this is not new, the possibility of lightening dark hair without the use of bleach is not widely known by the majority of hair colorists. Many of us are taught that bleaching hair first, then toning is the only way to lighter hair. Of course this is true for the majority of hair color clients today, but for the select few who don't color it (or haven't colored it in a long time) there are other healthier, less time consuming and longer lasting options.
What is used to achieve no bleach balayage?
Over the last two decades I've come across a few professional color brands that offer a lighten and tone option in a tube. They are all able to break through dark * (and colored) hair and tone in one step. There are limitations of course;- hair cannot be compromised (it's still a very strong product that can damage weakened hair)
- only warm tones are achievable (think red, copper, milk chocolate and caramel)
- only 2-3 levels of lightening is possible
- dark artificial hair may not lighten*, if at all
Who’s a good candidate?

Someone who has never colored their hair before and would like to dive into hair coloring without a huge commitment.

Someone with black to medium brown natural hair. Hair with this level of darkness produces the most richest tones due to the natural underlying pigment present. My no bleach formula is customized to each individual to enhance whatever is underneath.Naturally light brown haired or dark blonde individuals may achieve a warm blonde as a final result. Ashy tones are not an option as this would require bleach to lighten all warm underlying pigments, then tone.

Teenagers! Parents who are hesitant to allow their children to color their hair for the first time don't need to worry. Because of my technique, none of the chemicals touch their scalp. The best part is, they don't need to come in for expensive upkeep appointments every few months. It's the perfect service for back to school!

Anyone with previous highlights that have only been toned with a demi permanent color. My formula breaks through demi permanent color without issue. Highlights that are already in the hair are enhanced and will lighten even more.

Due to the specialized techniques, premium products, and customized formulations I use for each person’s unique hair type, the pricing is substantially higher than that of traditional foil highlights. The results are a seamless blend with rich, multidimensional tones that don’t require toner maintenance unlike traditional foil highlights. The upkeep is minimal with visits required only every 7-9 months or longer, depending on when you’d like to bring up the brightness.
No bleach balayage

This pricing is for my signature no bleach balayage that requires no additional toning on virgin hair. Most of my clients who have not colored their hair before are at this price point. The longer and denser your hair, the more product and time is involved, and that is what brings you to the higher price point.
No bleach balayage with toner
$390 - $440
Because of the unpredictable nature of using no bleach, toner may be required to neutralize the excess warmth that may be present in some hair types. Other times, previously colored hair can expose banding and/or previously highlighted hair may become exposed requiring a toner to balance the color.
